ORLANDO, FLORIDA – October 31, 2012 – Australian-based TAE signed an agreement with GE Aviation to become the M601 and H80 Designated Repair Center for the Asia-Pacific region.

“TAE has serviced GE’s F404 and F414 military engines for many years, and GE is looking forward to expanding our relationship to include the M601 and H80 turboprop engine for business and general aviation,” said Jim Stoker, president and managing executive of GE Aviation's Business and General Aviation Turboprops. “TAE’s strong presence in Asia-Pacific will help us assist our customers with quality service and support in this region.”

“We are very excited to have been chosen by GE Aviation to represent them as the Asia-Pacific’s Designated Repair Center for the new H80 engine and the existing Walter M601 engine fleet” said TAE’s general manager Andrew Sanderson. “We look forward to working with GE Aviation and expanding our renowned level of quality customer service to the new H80 engine customer base and the M601 operators in the Asia-Pacific region.”

TAE is Australia’s foremost turbine engine maintenance and engineering business with a proud history dating back to the 1960s. Operating from four sites around Australia, TAE’s customers include military operators, regional commuter airlines and the region’s agricultural aircraft. Our promise is “we keep you flying.” Visit TAE at www.tae.com.au.
GE’s H80 engine received EASA and FAA certification and will power business and general aviation, utility and agriculture aircraft. The H80 engine combines the elegant, robust design of the M601 engine with GE's 3-D aerodynamic design techniques and advanced materials to create a more powerful, fuel-efficient, durable engine compared with the M601 engine, with no recurrent fuel nozzle inspections and no hot section inspection. The H80 engine features an extended service life of 3,600 flight-hours between overhauls, significantly enhanced hot-day takeoff performance and high-altitude cruise speeds. The H80 will provide the option of a single- or dual-acting governor, allowing customers the flexibility in propeller selection.
